OIP 1 — 1-Day Guard Card Certification
A single 8-hour day covering the Washington Guard Card fundamentals — legal authority, observation and patrol, professional conduct, and log basics — plus our full Fire Watch Officer training program. A written exam is required. Ideal for a new hire who needs a guard-card path quickly.
OIP 2 — 3 Added Days, OIP 1 Included
Three additional full days on top of OIP 1 — four days total: Washington criminal law, de-escalation, the use-of-force continuum, medical training, the basic role of the Security Officer, CPTED, and log and Incident Report writing. A written exam is also required.
OIP 3 — Advanced Development
Our advanced material for proven Officers: applied psychology and conversational influence, personality typing, face reading, trauma response and crisis intervention, life management, and Officer safety scenarios. A written exam is required. Pricing quoted per Team.
What the Officer Integration Program is
The Officer Integration Program — OIP — is how Diligence Security develops the disciplined, dependable Officers who protect our Clients across the Puget Sound. It is a three-stage curriculum. OIP 1 certifies a Guard or Officer in one day, OIP 2 completes the foundation every Officer needs before holding a post, and OIP 3 is advanced training reserved for Officers who have proven themselves through probation.
We built OIP because too much of the security industry treats training as a box to check. We treat it as the product. When you hire our Mobile Patrol Officers, On-site Officers, or Emergency Fire Watch Officer Team, you are hiring people who have been taught to observe, communicate, de-escalate, and document to a single, high standard.
Security Guard Training for Other Companies
Because our curriculum meets or exceeds Washington State requirements, other security companies can send their Guards and Officers to complete training with us for guard-card endorsement. Whether you need the $75 one-day OIP 1 certification or the $300 four-day OIP 2 foundation, your people leave with the same professional standards we demand of our own Team.
This is not a webinar or a packet to read. It is classroom instruction, scenario discussion, written examination, and practical documentation standards. OIP 1 — 1-Day Guard Card Certification and Fire Watch Officer Training ($75)
OIP 1 is a single 8-hour day that certifies a Guard or Officer for guard-card endorsement and adds our full Fire Watch Officer training program: WISHA/OSHA expectations, NFPA and International Fire Code requirements, the fire tetrahedron, reading smoke, the 35-foot hot-work danger zone and reflash watch, fire alarm panel signals, the P.A.S.S. method, and continuous fire watch log documentation. Company culture, values, professional conduct, observation, and log basics are also covered, and a written exam requires a score of 80% or higher. The exam covers the Washington State Department of Licensing's 40-question guard-card test material.

OIP 2 — Foundational Officer Certification, 3 Added Days ($300, OIP 1 included)
OIP 2 adds three more 8-hour days on top of OIP 1: Washington criminal law and detainment authority, the basic role of the Security Officer, the Task Priority Continuum, CPTED, the legal limits of force and our five-level Escalation of Force Continuum, verbal de-escalation, medical training, emergency response, safety and drug awareness, information security, post orders, and professional Security Log, Incident Log, and Incident Report writing. A written exam is administered across the classroom days and requires a score of 80% or higher. Four days total for $300 per Officer.

OIP 3 — Advanced Officer Development
Once an Officer completes probation, they become eligible for OIP 3 — our advanced curriculum in applied psychology and conversational influence, personality typing, face reading, trauma response and crisis intervention, life management, advanced driver safety, and Officer safety scenarios. A written exam is required. Along the way, Officers earn their duty belt and handcuff and pepper spray training at the end of probation, Patrol Officers complete four hours of extensive drivers training for fleet access, and Supervisors complete eight hours of supervisory and TASER training.

The Training Ladder, in Days
Washington State licenses a Security Officer after 8 hours of pre-assignment training. Here is what an Officer actually completes moving through the Diligence Security ranks:
- OIP 1 — 1 day: Guard Card certification plus Fire Watch Officer training
- OIP 2 — 3 added classroom days, plus 1 day of onboarding and 1 day of field training
- OIP 3 — 6 days of advanced classroom development after probation
- End of Probation and Drivers Training — 8 hours combined, covering duty belt, handcuff, and pepper spray certification plus extensive drivers and fleet training
- Supervisor Training — 1 additional full day of supervisory and TASER training
That is 13 days of training before role-specific development, and 14 days for an Officer who moves into a Supervisor role. Beyond that, we develop management positions internally, including Human Resources, Field Training Officer, Field Manager, Operations Manager, and Project Manager roles, each with its own additional training track.

Does your training satisfy Washington Guard Card requirements?
